Im new to the forum, but I thought i'd share this super easy diy. I got really interested in trying the micro scrubbing and am currently waiting for the limewood air stones, being impatient, I cleaned out an old aqualifter I had laying around and tried to find an old air stone I had from some fishing stuff, not being able to find a blue airstone, I got to thinking that maybe I could drill out a marine pure sphere, I had just added a few in each of my sumps to try out. Ill keep it short and sweet on this, drilled a 1/4in hole about half way through and super glued 1/4in OD airline into it, set it up under the foam prefilter on my baffleless return pump, ran the intake out the window next to the tank and kicked her on. Its snowing in my tank with no foaming or bubbles popping at the surface that I can see. Ill try to post pictures, but will report back when the limewood comes in and compare by running it in my other tank. I heard lime wood airstones don't produce as well after a while so maybe this will be a cool alternative. What I've noticed so far, Polyps started extending opening almost immediatly, before lights started ramping on. Corals were releasing slime like crazy. Currently battling a little cyano and hair algae.

I hate to say it but your bubbles don't seem small enough to do what you want them to do.

I'm open minded and to suggestions.

The suggestion is only use wood AirStone days more to wait its big deal in facto if us not micro you are hurting your corals. Same like me waiting for those
