I was wondering if anyone has ever built an algae scrubber for an all-in-one tank? I'd like to try building on for mine, and having the water trickle directly into the tank (as opposed to one of the chambers), but I can't see a way to do it without involving another pump in there. Anyone???

Got me scratching my head... Seems like the most important feature of current ATS designs is having the light source be perpendicular with the screen, and as close to the screen as safely possible. I'm just not sure how you'd pull of lighting an ATS. Have any ideas cooking for this part already?

Yes, Matt, I thought of the lighting. I was going to add a small fuge type light in the back on the canopy.

Lighting from the top will complicate the design for sure - falling water and side-lighting are two hallmark features of all the modern ATS's I've seen.

In terms of where to get the water without using a dedicated pump? You'd have to count on your return pump to have some extra flow that could be dedicated and you'd have to tee off from (or otherwise extend) your existing return plumbing (which may not even exist in an AIO design...what kind do you have?).

Any chance you can supply a pic of the space you have in mind for it?
