A few of the high end builders out there are offering a type of armored/protected seams on their custom builds, protecting the silicone from being damaged by your scrapers and cleaners.

I didnt purchase one of those high end custom tanks where its included, So I would like to do a DIY version of this.

Has anyone done this before? Any instructions/ideas on how to do it?

Thanks!

I had my new tank(2yrs old now haha), built with them. Although yes they do keep me from hitting/scraping the silicone, they are also somewhat difficult to keep clean themselves. Difficult may be the wrong word, but I do have to use a different “tool” to clean them.

I’ve found that a brand new unscented magic eraser works the best for any of those “hard to clean” spaces like seams and even cleans algae out of scratch marks on the glass
