DIY ATO Questions

So because of TDS creep as you call it, you should not directly plumb to a float valve. How much is this TDS creep in units. Does it raise your TDS by .01 % or by 10%?
I don't see it on my system as I have zero TDS after the RO and again after the DI canister. How much is the Creep?

I'm glad you have no issues. Not everyone has had the same sucess. This thread is one that answers your questions. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/high-tds-when-set-to-auto-top-off-why.41076/

Cheers!

A lot of opinion, but if TDS creep is a problem for a system with 500-600 starting TDS then maybe it would be worth the effort to put in a holding tank and run your water in batches. If you starting water is less than 200 TDS, it is not worth the trouble. I find these forum rules of thumb pretty stupid at times, and this is one of the times.

A question for those who have experienced TDS creep. If you run your system and get your lowest TDS, what will the creep be in 30 minutes or an hour. Or does it take days to build up to 30 or 40 TDS? Seems a continuous system would not see any creep and a semi continuous may work as well. My system starts and stops 30-40 times a day to take care of evaporation and drinking water. I have 9 tanks on one 100 gal open sump(500 total gals), so I use quite a bit of water per day.
I also have a 65 gal RODI storage tank with a float valve.
