Well i know i need a 12 volt relay with a matching relay socket, 12 volt transformer ac adapter, float switch and a cheap extention chord . however im horrible when it breaks down to the relay and matching everything so its right. There was a youtube video of the diy king but was hoping he linked everything in the discription but he didn't

Just built one but haven't put it to you use yet as looking for a pump.
After my first build and not even putting into use yet. I did find out that there are Solid state relays that might be more reliable. As I heard the relays can stick and stay stuck on. But was told that some lubricant can be applied to stop that from happening. I think I might but I second ATO to plug in the other ATO to for extra redundancy.
Another thing I think I would consider is using an optical sensor which seems pretty cheap and then there's no moving parts. Haven't looked into it further yet.
