hey everybody
im looking to start up my reef tank and was looking for easy diy ideas for a auto top off system does anyone have any ideas or plans for doing so so i can get one made that way i have it done before i set my sump up thanks so much any ideas or info is appreciated

Thx guys and I'm sry I forgot to say what size tank its a 65 gallon (36"Lx18"Wx24"H) with a 29 gallon DIY sump/refugium.
I'm looking for a step by step of how to build something to top it off using a float valve or switch and maybe a powerhead or gravity feed way to get it to the sump not sure what the best choice is and how to make it thx again

IMHO and mose especially with sump system, the best thing would be to setup a drip system and adjust it to replace the evaporative water.

with an auto top off water is added when sump level goes down. Great, fine exactly what it is supposed to do. But sump level also goes down when the overflow fails. In that case the last thing you want is to dump in all the water in you top off system. Which will probably result in the display flooding. Much better to have the drip system under those conditions.
