DIY back up power supply

I'm creating this thread, to see if anyone has designed and made a back up power supply for when the power cuts out.
I've been doing some research on how Im going to design my own. I've seen on you tube videos guys making them from a car battery and an invertor which are all American designed. So when looking for an invertor with my criteria ie maintaining battery power when the mains is on, automatic switch when there is a power cut.
My other criterias are to power a small heater and my smart wave to keep the oxygen flow. I'm not sure which ones are good?
So please show me your designs and which invertor you are using and how long you get out of a car battery.

Depending upon the power load, this is a good start. It's the newest model. They got them UL listed and reduced the wattage consumption when on battery source.
It will last several days in most scenarios using a heater. Not using a heater, probably a week.
