Hello fellow reefers,

I am interested in doing a build that would be similar to the Reef Brite 48" XHO Blue Bar.

What I need to know is what parts do I need to buy and from where. Also, if anyone has a build guide that they can share, it would be greatly appreciated as well.

Check out rapid led, it's all DIY and uses quality parts. Their website has great info on it too.

Anybody else besides RapidLED? No one has tried a build like this one before?

Buy aluminum U channel from home depot. Cut to length. Use c bracket to mount on fixture.

Buy 13x 3w cree xt-e royal blue, 1 meanwell eln 60-48d, 1x 10v ac/dc converter from radioshack, and some wiring and thermal paste. Wire together. Turn on.

Leave about 4" at either end open then space em evenly And gap for your center brace also. Idk exact measurements

Alright so looking around for a DIY source to build my Actinic Supplement strip and came accross these. I want a strip that can add shimmer to my 4 bulb ATI fixture during the day and act as a moonlight in the wee hours.

Regarding the splash guard, I found this Heatsink that actually looks like a good idea.

40" Aluminum heatsink

It would look like this:
