I build my own diy led lighting years ago and they have been working great for me. I have several pucks that have burnt out over the years and would like to replace them with some of the new colors that are available now that werent years ago. I currently have just whites and blues. I just got done reading an article on the newer colors (2 year old article) that recommended going with greens and maybe some uv. My lights are a 48 light build. How many and of what color do you all think?
thanks
Jeff

If this helps, here's the breakdown of the 55 LED light from Reefbreeders:

24 450 nm royal blues
14 4500K Neutral White
6 480 nm blues
6 410-420 nm Violets
2 660 nm Reds
(Plus 3 480 nm blues for moonlights)

you can buy just the led from either rapidled.com or stevesleds.com both are reasonable for pricing. I have bought from rapidled with no issues
Looking for some uv leds I found reefledlights sell a semi ultra violet. Anyone if this is a uv led or is there another one available.
thanks
Jeff

I have been looking at the different leds that are available. At what range is the led considered uv? I have found one in the 400-410nm range and several in the 410-420 range. I am thinking of putting 6 of one of these colors into my 48 led light and plan on 6 violet in the 415-424 range. I have read some people saying they are getting better growth with the uv. Which wave length bulb should I get?
thanks
Jeff
