Hello and happy new year to all. I am trying to figure out a way to start making my own socks for my eshopps adv-300 sump with rectangle socks. I purchased a bunch of felt from local store and now I'm contemplating how to fasten the felt to an existing rectangle template. I was thinking of scraping the used socks off the plastic rectangle piece with a razor blade and maybe gluing the new sewn socks onto the rectangle piece? It seems doable but maybe there's a better way? I also thought of using a dremel tool to cut and modify the sock holders to be a simple round shape rather than rectangular.

I was trying to figure the same thing, contemplated buying some of the drawstring type and incorporating it with the plastic rectangle.

Believe it or not, I know of a few people who used pantyhose quite often 10 years ago or so.

I imagine doubling or tripling it would work, as well as using the draw string type as mentioned by lion king.

If you have a sewing machine you can just buy the right fabric and sew new socks onto that rectangle i know a few people that do this with there old round ones

Have you cleaned them and they just won't come clean anymore or are they falling apart?

So far I have about 6 socks I have been rotating out and machine washing then, it's been fine for the past 4 months or so but the socks are definitely starting to deteriorate. I hate paying $14 a piece for them so that's why I trying a DIY approach. I guess I'll start be trying to sew the felt directly to the plastic, my wife has a sewing machine so I'm sure it will work. If anyone has any other suggestions feel free to chime in.

I have tried sewinf them, the plastic will start to thin out after a while. What i did on my round ones, i made socks out of the felt from jones fabric then attach it to the plastic ring with a tight rubber band. Works well for me.
