Diy Filter socks

So I'm researching filter socks and found activated carbon felt. Would this be a viable solution to make diy filter socks?

I'm thinking that it will possibly work. I don't know how cost effective to have to replace the carbon sheets when they clog I doubt you can reactivate it and reuse
