So a little background, I am new to saltwater tanks. Hell I am really new to fish. However I am interested in doing my own food for the fish. I currently make my own raw dog food so I have quite a bit of experience preparing animal food. I understand each fish will have its own dietary needs. With that said, why do most people add liquid vitamins to their fish food as opposed to using the fish's organs, which are considered the most nutritious part of the animal. The organs commonly are very vitamin and mineral dense. I am just wondering if there is a reason to not use the organs. Thanks for the info in advance :)

We’ve made our own food for years and in every batch there is at least one whole fish that gets ground up into the mix. Find an Asian Market near you and go to town in the fresh fish section. We grab at least one red snapper (though it breaks my heart to do anything except escovitch those guys), trim the fins off and then toss it in the blender guts and all, pulse that down to a smooth consistency and add our ingredients. We have in the past added vitamins, mainly just because we had them in the fridge.

I don't know of many people around around here who add vitamins to their DIY food. I use whole clams and mussels, fish and guts, roe, nori, and some frozen commercial foods like cyclops, mysis and enriched brine.
