My current projects is moving all my electrical to a fish room(AKA bathroom) - but that’s for another story :)

i always wanted a frozen fish feeder so I can keep anthias, so when my wife decided she didn’t need our small fridge I was able to make that thought a reality!

what we have is a a combination of…

Apex utility pump
Apex Dos
John guest fittings
3/8 tubing
3 feedings a day
Reed nutrition Food

At the moment I have the Dos mounted on the side of the refrigerator(outside) max tubing is 4-5”. How bad do you think it is to have that much food left in the tubing ?.

the second option is to mount the Dos Inside the fridge. I’ve already drilled holes big enough to route the plumbing and connections. The only issue I will find here is moisture getting into the usb cable and possibly shorting out.

The utility pump will run for 2 minutes after the dos dispenses the food into the lines.

cause for concern :
John guest fittings habe metal tabs inside to keep the tubing from coming back out. I do not plan to have this submerged. But worse case scenario it will rust. And potentially lose its grip? Any feedback here is great

the other is the apex dos connections inside the fridge, will the pumps give out faster in the fridge? How will the connectors keep with the moisture inside. I’m wondering if Neptune apex can chime in… and answer this..

I always ask myself how would I like to eat what I am putting in my tank, and unfrozen food from the ice box never has any appeal for me and so I would not do this to my fish.

HTH.
