DIY fuge sump

ok guys and gals starting a 40 gallon fuge sump. Any advice, ideas, wish i would of.
I only want to do this once thanks in advance

that makes senses keeping materials the same. is there problems with ayrlic partitions?

acrylic can swell in water so if the partitions fit too tightly they can crack the tank...bought a fiji cube kit for mine...it has acrylic partitions that are(hopefully) sized correctly ...11 months no problems....the kit's adjustable for the depth of water in the sump but now that i know what height works i'd probably just duplicate it with fixed glass panels if i set up another one
