I wanted it, i could not spend 300 for the only one available on the market. Ive did it for me. I've got few extra to sell but i'm in europe so not selling here... just wanted to show it if someone might like the idea and remake it. It's been running for 2 months in my 2 tank and a friend tank without any problem. on a 120lt nano system it uses 8/9mt of fleece a month. The rolls are made out of a bubble magus ARF L recharge roll that i've cut in 3 part.

Stl's will be available, i would like to sell the few i've made in order to repay the wasted filament and electronics, once done, i promise i will free them on the web.

Very cool. So how long does a roll typically last?on my 120lt i use 9/10MT a month. On my 50lt I use as well around 9/11mt. On a friend 170lt it uses 11/13mt. But, with a 20€ bubble Magus arf L rechange filter I can make 3 rolls of 40mt for my filternat. And at about 10mt/months I can go for a test with just one bubble Magus roll.

@fr3n0z Great design! I'd love to know more about, do you still have it running? I have a waterbox infinia reef 150.4 where I'd like to design/print a roller for. Is your design parametric?

Hi Shoedy, no i've upgraded it because with the time some issue comes out (motor too small, not enough tissue in the in-water chamber, too small in order to use new rolls and the work to re-roll the new media was tedious). I have upgraded the design with a bigger in-water chamber and made out of laser cut plexiglass. I have different models for waterbox 7cm sock, redsea nano and for standard 4" sock. But seen the work it took it to design and test them i am not sharing the files, sorry. But i sell them cheap, they're at 90€ with a included roll + shipping (shipping in europe is between 5 and 15€ depending where you based...i'm in France). If you interested send me a pm, i can give you my website link. Have a good one.

I'll consider it! Looking for a good fit with my waterbox sump as I want to just drop it in instead of plumbing. My socks are 7" though so I'm looking for a larger system.

Do you have your own cnc laser cutter btw?

Any issues with the in tank filament? Was it PETG/ASA/ABS?

ah yeah, did not watched the tank...for that one you need 2 of the big one. No, PETG did not gave any problem in tank but if you go 20cm wide, you need a big motor.

if interested i would consider a support like that (in the photo is only for a reefer 350 with double 4" sock..so one filter was enough)...i've added on the support a adjustable trap so that IF the flow is too much, you can open the trap a little bit and reduce the flow thru the filter. Like the klir support.
