DIY Jebao 24V Battery Backup

Have an idea, does your jabao controller have a 0-10v input? If so you can get a 3 pole relay, or a 2nd relay to run in parallel. On this pole attach it to a 3-5v power supply and attach it to the 0-10v. This way as soon as power is cut the pump speed will knock down giving you extra run time.

Unfortunately, the controllers I have don't have any kind of input at all.

You can put 2 12V batteries in series but then use a 24V charger. do not try to boost charger output. At that point you could just use a boost converter and set it to batteries float voltage.
if you put two 12V 7Ah in series you get 1 24V 7Ah battery.
Ah rating literally means 7A for 1h or 1A for 7h and power is I x U so 24V * 7A * 1h = 0.168kWh. In real life you wil lget a lot more out of your battery on low current then on high.
so if you want to double your 24V battery you need 4 12V, (2 in series) x2 in paralel. all 4 batteries can be charged by a 24V charger (12V battery is actually 6 cells in 1 and lead acid cells are self leveling).
If you wanted to splurge on a better system you could go LiFePO4 type cells. 4 cells make an equivalent 12V lead-acid battery that you can charge with a standart charger, but for maximum bang for buck from this type of battery you would need to add abattery managment system (BMS) - sounds scary but in essence its fancier charger for lithium batteries and just a little bit more expensive

I need to keep It as simples as possible due to my poor eletric skills.

Regarding the booster. I have the one of picture attached, is It ok?

Regarding relay, I found this one (picture 2 and 3). 24V 14pins...looks similar to yours.

Any other advice???

Booster seems ok.
as for relay - config quite simple:
battery side: charger -> battery -> booster -> relay unpowered=on side
Ac side: DC psu -> relay unpowred=off side + power the relay.
Relay itself seems fine well you do not need that many poles but it's fine. You need to find out if relay switching is powered directly by 24V? if not you might need a resistor to drop the voltage to specs value.
13-14 pins activate the relay switch?

I was looking for 12v battery prices...weirdly It would be cheaper a car 50ah than 18ah or 20ah. So, Iam considering a car battery. What do u think? Overkill? :-)

Car batteries are not meant to be fully discharged - if you full discharge the lead will literally fallout out of the electrodes inside it :)
+ they might leak/off-gas - agm batieries are meant to prevent it.
Granted using a battery protection module is always recommended

Hmmm Iam a really dumb regarding batteries. I was thinking that car batteries and these 7amps nobreak batteries were the same thing, just with different currents :-/. I thought that a selated car battery would protect me against gas leakeage. Well, what do u think about two 7ah nobreak batteries in parallel. So I could have 14ah with a reasonable price. Do you think would be better and safer for regular pump aplication than car batteries? Do u think I still need a battery module with these 7 amps battery? Iam trying to keep It as simples as possible. Honestly, it is very rare any Power outage in my neighborhood but I would like to have a safe device to help me If sth goes wrong.

Another newbie question:

I asked to the guy selling the relé If this relé is eletromagnetic. He sair to me that this relé is eletromechanic 4NA + 4 NF, 24V 5a. Do you think that It Will works or should I search for an eletromagnetic one. Sorry for such basic questions but we are far from my eletric confort zone .

Car batteries are cheaper than the sealed deep cycle batteries, but as said you can't use the full capacity or really discharge them more than 20-30% without damage (to the point you need to chemically recover them if they get to zero, they won't even charge).

I'm not sure what a nobreak battery is. Batteries which are labeled for use in battery backup, security systems, or solar applications will be what you want (this sounds like what it might be, but we lost something in translation). You can have open batteries which are deep cycle, but I wouldn't keep them in a living area. Look for "sealed", "gel" or "AGM" battery types. You can also use lead-acid compatible LiFeO3 batteries, but I'd avoid them (much higher cost even with notable advantages).

You can parallel batteries of the same type easily. I would personally use a fused wire/cable in all cases, as batteries have a very high current capacity = very hot wires in a short circuit = fire risk.

Finally had the time to wire all the things up and it works really great. When the battery is fully charged I will run the first test to see how many hours I can get. Here are some pics.

Update:

The running time with the 12v 24Ah is 6 Hours 51 min. the Pump is running almost at full power.

Looking to change in the future for a Marine Gel Battery, and leave this for the wavemakers.
 
Wanted to bump this up.

I recently built one of these, and it works great. Used a 50ah lifepo4 battery and can get 16 hours out of it running a DCP-15000 at the "40" setting.

Pretty good runtime. I wish there was support in the pump controllers to drop speed when on battery backup - could easily get even more time out of a battery that way. This is what the 12V input in the EcoTech pumps accomplishes.

Yes, unfortunately there isn’t. I run two pumps in parallel, both at the “40” setting. The battery only goes into one, so I achieve the same end result as an Ecotech in backup mode.

Two of the Jebao pumps are still cheaper than one of the Ecotech pumps, so I guess it tips the balance in my case.
