I havent't seen a thread (that doesn't mean one doesn't exist ;-) that talks about phyto being grown with red leds or red/blue plant grow strips.

I need to switch to leds from t8/t5 due to heat (built an enclosed phyto grow box).

Anyone have experience with red or red/blue (3:1, 4:1) phyto experience?

Please include led wattage and configuration if possible

Just choose a cool white and warm white. Or a full spectrum bulb.

Planted tank lights are also an option.
An inexpensive RGBW led strip also works if you want to wrap the containers.

Or look for 3200 and 5600 (or as close as you can) Led bulb or tube.

The Phillips par 38 is 4800 k and is an excellent grow light but very bright.

I was using the par38 bulb with great results! Looking to move to a strip light. I'll check for the RGBW stick on strips. Maybe check on planted tank leds. all good ideas!

Thanks for the input.

Any luck or experience with 3:1 deep red/royal blues?

No. Never played with those.

I'm a color snob. Suppose. I could not look at my sump or plants in pink. Lol.

I grew phyto like crazy with cheap crappy old power compacts. Just a white light works great nothing fancy.

Been growing phyto for years but was needing to switch to something cooler as my phyto is now in an enclosed box. Looked at led strip light from lowes... take apart and move driver outside of box... or just get some stick on led strips from Amazon or flea bay...
