It is true, I had a Pacific Sun fixture without any white LEDs and it works out very good. When it broke this spring I did not know what I should use instead. In the end - I get som GHL mitras LED bar 2 because they have rather much of RGB diods but also white LEDs - but it was the closet I could come to my beloved PS fixture and I did want to test some new things. I run my RGB LED s (472, 530 and 630 nm) for 100 % between 12 and 22. My blues (425,450 and 455) for 100 % between 12 and 21:30 and my white LEDs (8000 K, 6500 K and only 10 pcs 4500 K) for 100 % during 15:00-19:00. All channels have some ramping up and down The reason why I want white LEDs in this case was that I want some wavelengths > 700 nm. But I do not need the "white" LEDs just in order for it to look white - the RGB fix that

I´m very pleased with both my old fixture and my new one. In this thread all of this is discussed and in the post 230 I compare some of my settings. The camera I use is a compact camera Olympus tough III where you can do an automatic white balance.

Never mind my last question. Just noticed that I can't have 5 Violets (10 in total), because it's 3.6V each. So, back to the drawing board. I think this layout covers all bases.
