I am very new to reefing, I just picked up a 150 gallon tank that I am working on gathering the needed equipment to set it up. Being new to this hobby the most confusing part to me is the lighting.

I am thinking of making my own lights but am very confused as to what LED's I will need, and what size, or how many heatsinks I will need. (What configuration will be the most economical, can I get away with two 24" lights ect..)

I have been looking through LED Group buy and I see I can buy individual LED's or a CREE LUMA 5.2. What route will be the most economical?

If the most economical will be going with the LUMA 5.2, how many would I need. Also, if I go with all individual LED's how many would I need and what colors?

The tank is 6' x 17"w x 32" deep.
