I have been thinking of trying to create a long tank dem. are 6ft L x 1ft ish W x 15in H. Why is this because i have a bar type spot in my house that does nothing. What are you all thoughts on doing a tank like this?

Yea, go for it. Lot easier to clean not being all that deep.

btw i have changed my mind on the L of the tank. Its going to be 48x15x15. Because i already have a 2 bulb light fixture and i'd just buy another 2 bulb fixture. Going with T8 over this tank, with coral inside of it. You all think that 4 bulbs could support this tank,

Mstanker,

Just popping in since I see you are from Mississippi/Memphis area. (No advice on tank, sorry...I am new to this hobby)

I make it to that area from time to time...are there any especially good LFS in the area? I have a son who plays USSSA baseball and we make it to South Haven from time to time...a LFS trip would give us something to do during down times.

And good luck with tank...will be following to see pics one day.

That's a good question. I don't know how T8 really compares to T5HO. I have a 4 bulb T5 HO on my 55 which is 48x13x21 and do softies and LPS. It's not quite enough for most SPS, I think. So I guess it'll depend on what you want in it.
