I've decided to switch to 2 part dosing and recently got some magnesium chloride from BRS and some epsom salt from Walmart. After mixing the 5 cups of magnesium chloride and 3 cups of magnesium sulfate to make a gallon of supplement, using RO/DI water, the solution turned a yellow tint.

As this is my first time ever mixing DIY magnesium supplement ever, is this normal for freshly made solution to look slightly yellow?

I know it's from the epsom salt, possibility from sulfate, but is it okay to use? Have you seen this?

I've not seen it turn yellow, but it is likely fine. Probably just a bit of iron in it.

Was either part yellow before mixing, or did it turn instantly on mixing, of over time later?

Both parts very white before mixing. Turned yellowish after completely mixed, instantly.
