DIY Magnet Holder

I bought some pretty powerful Neodymium Magnets and I want to encase them in something to attach to the back wall for mounting frags. I thought about using fiberglass resin. I want to make sure I don't have a problem with the salt water getting to some of the nasties in the magnet coating. Who has done something like this?

Try Plasti Dip. It will coat them in plastic and you can find it at your local hardware store usually. Straighten out a paper clip, attach the side of the magnet to the clip, and dip into the plasti dip. Works pretty well and I haven't noticed any harmful side affects in my tank or magnets.

Is Plasti Dip the kind of stuff you see on tool handles sometimes?

I though about some kind of mold to put the magnets in to encase them, like a plastic bottle cap or a baby bottle nipple or something like that. Surely I'm not the first one to try this.

You can. That's sort of what was done to some magnetic frag holders I bought.
