building my first real tank! no more Solanas, biocubes and aqua pods! trying to decide the best route to go for my sump. should i buy a Trigger, Eshopps, etc or do the DIY route? i have a 125g, and reef octopus 150nt. also where do you find the baffles if i do decide to go DIY?

There are precut, DIY baffle kits for sale on ebay. Made to fit a bunch of different tank sizes.
Also isnt that hard to cut plexiglass or go to lowes and get them to cut glass for you.

I made a sump out if a 15 gallon. That way I could make it the way I needed it.
For baffles find a local glass shop they can cut them. Just figure out the sizes you need.

Go to your local glass guy and have them cut the glass to size for the sump. There is a glass shop on OTB right by I-4

I think a 55 from the dollar per gallon sales with baffles by a local shop (or DIY) will be the most sensible option unless you're really serious about equipment.

I have the trigger systems ruby 36 sump and also the reef octopus int150 it fits real nice in the first chamber with plenty room to spare the sump is made real well and looks nice as well. You'd be happy with it for sure if that's the route you decide to go

I have used DIY sumps in the past and been happy with them. I would never have paid hundreds for an acrylic sump if I hadn't won one in a reef club raffle, but after owning one they are not a bad investment. If you're willing to spare the money, I don't think you'd regret it.

I have a Eshopps ref/sump and absolutely hate it ----- the refugium is a poor design - I wish I had made my own or got a emerald trigger sump.

It would definatly be cheaper more custom and function just as good.

i thing the 55g DIY sump is the best route, but where do you get the baffles!?
Here is the 55 gallon sump i currently use. I have a 1/2 inch acrylic for the first chamber and i have regular glass from homedepot for the rest
