So I just setup this lowboy frag tank with 1 inch drain and 3/4 return.

The drain has a maggie silencer on it and my pump is 1900 gph running at 50%.

I still get a gargling noice. What should I do to make it silent?

Add overflow box with lid? Bigger pipes? Drill another hole?

Added a picture of the setup, another picture for water level and a video for the sound.

Years ago I fixed a gurgling overflow by running a length of 1/4 inch tubing down the intake.

The gurgling is cause by trapped air mixing with water running down. The tube keeps the air and water from mixing and sloshing as much.

Some other reefers tried it and said it helped while others said it didn't.

+1 on tubing

grab a 1/4” bulkhead (super cheap fitting at Lowe’s/
Tubing
Drill
Sealent
1/4 valve

Being able to seal the hole on the top of the drain and control airflow by the valve is killer
