I have a 132 gallon tank with half purple painted and half live rock and looks amazing! So I have all my rock work ready to go into my new tank and wanted to know if anyone knew how to paint the rocks purple so I don't have to go through that ugly stage of a new tank.
The process is lengthy but results speak for themselves!
Take a few pieces out and let dry for 2 days
Then paint them without Pvc primer bc it’s toxic to the reef
Use sponge brush so you won’t get hair/paint all over
Once done let dry for 4 days
I sealed my rocks with epoxy two part solution
Mix equal part of part A and B
Then dip the rock and place it on a cookie rack to drip the excess epoxy out
Let dry for 4 days
Then cure in a bucket and pump with fresh water and bacteria solution ( I use stability by sea chem
Check the ph every day for two weeks
It should be basic 7-8 if acidic it could be because of the limestone leaching acid
You should leave it to cure for a month with one water change of. 80%
Introduce in the tank one piece per week
doing it natural is time consuming, needs constant dose check. And water testing
To make sure hardness, alkalinity and calcium is built up.
