DIY reflector ?

i recently got a aqua space light that has 2 250 de hqi. it has fairly small reflectors and i am taking all the insides out of the fixture and will be mounting them in a hood. i am wandering about some larger reflectors. and someone mentioned to me to make my own. anyone have any good diy info. and do these work as well as purchased reflectors?

A couple people have built this (or similar) on the local forum. Haven't a clue about comparisons, though.

One thing about reflectors. If you want them to work well, the angles need to be perfect. Myself, I suggest purchasing some good ones. A good reflector can give you a lot more light into the tank that a bad reflector.
