I'm hoping for some help! I have a custom 48" x 18" reef tank. I want to DIY a glass lid to reduce evaporation and keep in heat during the winter months, as I travel often at that time and the ambient temp in my house is lower than normal. Gas exchange is not an issue, as I have a large sump and large skimmer. I'd like to have the front edge flip up so I don't have to move a large hunk of glass. I've considered building a temporary eurobrace and using premade hinged glass tops, but am not sure of the materials to do this. I would want to remove this lid during the spring-fall times when I am home and he temps are higher.
Really excited to hear everyones ideas!
