Hey guys built a stand for our 180 gallon reef tank we are getting ready to set up. Thought I would post some pictures to see if the stand will be solid and reliable for long term. The three of us in the house have debated on it being overbuilt underbuilt or just right. Haha.
Let me know what you guys think.
Span is 73 by 26 inches 43 inches tall.
All screwed and liquid nailed at every joint and contact area. It's 2x6 top frame with mix of 2x4 and 2x6 supports throughout. Top has 3/4 plywood and has 3/4 plywood on the bottom for our sump to sit on. Front doesn't have a vertical center brace for sump removal and access. So we put triple 2x6 glued and screwed together to make up for it.
We painted and silicone applied to all the seams on the inside for water protection and ease for cleanup. This is just the skeleton and will be closing it in on the sides and making 2 doors for the sump. So here we go with some pictures!
