Took all day but finally finished calibrating the diy intank overflow. Still more to build and add. Thinkin of adding an octopus Skimmer to the intake chamber.
 
IF you have a lot of room above the sump, you could build a skimmer stand to elevate the skimmer to the proper submerged level (maybe 6-8 inches). Otherwise, not sure where you were wanting to put a skimmer in that design.

The partition in that section is 8 inches exactly.

Looks like the skimmer is skimmer pretty aggressive do you aggree?
 
Ah, the sump is much smaller than I thought. :behindsofa: :)
 
it looked massive...i thought those were 4 full sized bamboo trees..

nice looking sump though, good work!
 
Clean work. You are definitely going to want an auto top off. With a return section that small you will be adding water very often.
 
Glad to have inspired. adding the silicone for the bubble trap was probably the most challenging since the partitions were only 1" apart and the middle partition starts from the top of the tank and left open on the bottom.
