DIY sump help

Have a 29 gallon tank to build a sump for my 75 gallon reef tank need some help on what design would be best please. Will be doing sps corals

I would decide on what skimmer and return pump you want. Then make the chambers for each of them just big enough to fit them. Leave another chamber as big as you can for a refugium. You can model it after any popular sump and it’ll work great.

There's no middle ground. If you're committed to not letting detritus decompose in them (i.e. clean them every 3-4 days), they can be good. If not, skip them. You're better off having the detritus managed organically or through water changes...

That is a good option to have on that website thanks. I get the tank Friday so I’ll post some pics.

that’s the sump setup the guy I am buying the tank has now but the sump tank has a crack which he silicone but I don’t want to take any chances of the tank failing and have a big mess

Here is the one I built for my tank. I for one like the filtersocks. I just buy a bunch of them and swap them out every few days and then bleach them in the washing machine at my job once a week.

What’s a good rodi system within a buffer of 250 bucks? And what is a good container to use for fresh and saltwater storage. Also setups for ato

I have used units from BRS and Spectra pure and have been happy with both. As far as water storage I just use 32gal brute cans from Home Depot or lowes. I have one for fresh RODI and one for mixing up saltwater
