Making a new sump using an Aqueon 20 gallon long tank. My last design I split in 3 compartments. I keep getting salt creep in my sump. What should I consider when designing my sump.

Salt creep is often caused by microbubbles popping at the surface. If you can keep as much air as possible from entering the drain line, or allow it to go up instead of down, that's the first step. From there, the only thing to do is use a lid or something to help contain the little splashes that occur. I've done things like let filter media float on the surface, or pile rocks up above the surface so it catches most of the mist.

This.....Get a bean animal drain and salt creep will go away. I have a 20L sump and the water on the inlet side is only 1/2" from the top and I never have to wipe salt off of it. If you don't have air entering the system, it won't splash and make bubbles.
