DIY Vanadium, which chemical form would work?

I'm interested in making my own solution of Vanadium, but unsure of which chemical form would be ideal. Would something like this work VOSO4*xH2O (Vanadium (IV) oxide sulfate hydrate)?

Matt Wandell has posted an ASW recipe that uses V2O5. Not sure if that's ideal or not, but I understand that's what they use (or used) at Steinhart.

Yes, I do, but I'm pretty sure forum rules prohibit me from posting it. If you google about stuff like "source for diy salt mix ingredients" you just might find it .

The predominate form is seawater is VO4---, in two protonated versions depending on pH: HVO4-- and H2VO4- according the Chemical Oceanography by Millero.

If you can get it, sodium orthovanadate (Na3VO4)might be a fine choice.

Great, I'll check to see if I can get this. V2O5 is rather expensive.

i submitted an order with sigma aldrich, but i doubt it'll be approved.

There's no test kit. You need to get the value from ICP at a "send it out" company like Triton.

I personally wouldn't dose blind since a few folks have already elevated vanadium, but it is most likely safe to dose NSW levels once a week or less.

Potassium orthovanadate would be equally good to sodium orthovanadate.
