I'm interested in making my own solution of Vanadium, but unsure of which chemical form would be ideal. Would something like this work VOSO4*xH2O (Vanadium (IV) oxide sulfate hydrate)?

Thanks in advance

Chris

Matt Wandell has posted an ASW recipe that uses V2O5. Not sure if that's ideal or not, but I understand that's what they use (or used) at Steinhart.

Thanks Jim, would you happen to have link to this recipe?

is there a source for V that's more accessible to us non-professionals?

i submitted an order with sigma aldrich, but i doubt it'll be approved.

What is the dosing strategy? Is there a cost effective test kit? Is it one of the elements that can exist at high levels without issues?

There's no test kit. You need to get the value from ICP at a "send it out" company like Triton.

I personally wouldn't dose blind since a few folks have already elevated vanadium, but it is most likely safe to dose NSW levels once a week or less.
