DIY Wooden Stand - verify this is okay?

That is a tried and true design for me. Typically, I will polyurethane my stands as protection from humidity. Will you be leaving it open or will you be wrapping it to finish?

As far as right now, the stand is going to be completely open, so I think there will be plenty of ventilation. I still plan on coating the inside to prevent warping from accidental spills/flooding

I had to dig back a few years to find it, but here is the finished stand (no doors as of this picture) currently under my 110:

Oak plywood and Oak boards no 2x4's

Really like the look of this and it looks great without panels. Oak may be a little out of my price range but definitely something to consider for the future.

I like open stands as I admire EVERYTHING about my systems and not just whats in the DT. But another benefit to open stands is ventilation. This helps to keep humidity down and makes it more difficult to overheat the tank.

Love that guy "DIY King", I hope his design is solid as I'm about to fill my 200gal sitting on top of an exact copy following his youtube. With my other tanks, on one I didn't paint and the mould from condensation has built mega cities inside the wood over a long period of time. With the other I've just used basic exterior paint and not a spec of mould to be seen!

well, after going to 3 different places (Lowe's doesn't cut 2x4's) I ended up at Home Depot

Took over an hour to cut the wood. Got back to my house and all the measurements are off. Have a bunch of kids who don't want to be there working there. I'm over DIY for right now lol. It's a lot more hassle than I expected.. just going to buy a stand.

Appreciate all the suggestions; will keep in mind for the future
