I recently did a really big water change and the next day I noticed all my lps corals have closed up and 2 of my sps colonies have bleached (one dying of completely within 2-3 days) at first I thought they where in shock since there was quite a salinity swing but after testing the water I found my dkh to be at 17.5!!!!! Does anyone know how to address this, I have already stopped dosing and I’m pretty sure that my doser has malfunctioned caused this swing. Should I do another water change, or dose something to help bring my alk back down to desired level and if so what.

Thanks

Don’t dose anything! Do moderate water changes and let you alk levels stabilize on their own. youll do more harm than good trying to get your levels in range abruptly.

Water change. How many gallons is your tank?

Allow it to come back down naturally otherwise you'll shock the system yet a second time.

Thanks will do water change tomorrow my tank is Red Sea reefer 170 and I tend to do 50-60 litre water changes by weekly
