DKH Hanna checker gone bad?

Heres my short story and question. I've have a Hanna egg I have used for the past 4 years. Probably the past 3 months or so I feel like my readings have been fluctuating. Always kept my alk at 8 with a calcium reactor and it just keeps reading lower each day.7.9 to 7.8 to 7.6 back and forth. This is after I correct with 2 part to try to bring it up to 8 for probaly the last 3 months. I tested today and the egg read 9.0. So my suspicion grew and I busted out the salifert dkh test and its reading 10.5!! My question is there a way to calibrate this thing? Do they go bad? The sps really dont seem to mind I guess because I've raised it slowly over the past few months. But i want it at 8. Thoughts?

If you feel adventurous you can take a soft cloth and wipe the tiny color meter window down inside the units tube area. It may have been smudge or got dirty
