Don’t think it’s that small frag of stylo that just all of a sudden started sucking alk .

That one frag is not the source of your alk depletion. What are your current parameters and salinity? How often do you water change?
How old is the tank and approximately how many corals? You will reach a stage where water changes alone are not enough to sustain parameters and that is where dosing begins. How much alk drop per day?

AFR is not really designed to be used to bring your alkalinity up. It's more designed to hold it stable once you have it there. I use seachem reef buffer if I need to up the alk some.

5ml is pretty low. Have you done a three to four day test of alk to get your average daily consumption without dosing?

Your alk is at a good level. What salt mix do you use and how often water changes? I dose 18ml of alk daily in my 80g system.

Red sea blue bucket every two weeks I take out about 5 gallons
Well that is pretty much the alk number for that salt mix. I use the red sea pro so it mixes higher alk number and I do 10 gallons every 2 weeks still need to dose alk everyday though.

Trident is not to be trusted. I would perform other test to confirm; especially with a sudden "change" in parameters.
