I hope someone can help me. I have two DM 165p light fixtures. I have been able to program one of them to run on it's own but the other one won't. It accepts the programming but it will not run on auto mode. I have reset the light numerous time both thru my tablet and the factory reset button on the light it self. I have tried contacting reef radiance, but have not heard back from them yet. Has anyone else had programming issues? Like I said earlier, one light fixture runs perfectly. Does anyone know how I can get a hold of Rick from reef radiance? I hear he is the man when it comes to these types of issues. Thank you in advance for your help.

Have you tried turning the other one off when uploading? I sometimes spontaneously connect to the other unit. I always hit the manual button to make sure I'm connected to the right unit. Other than that, I got nothing.

I bought two of these units and have the same problem. Contact their service department becuase they are aware that some of the units were shipped with timing boards that do not work. If you go into the app and synchronize the time on the unit that doesn't work properly it will show the last time you synchronized the unit which could have been days ago. It should only be off by a few seconds at most.

My second one accepted the program but did not come on this morning. I went in and reconfirmed all the times and its workong now. I did have trouble staying connected to one light. It seemed to like to randomly switch. A lil frustrating. But reconfirming did the trick. And reseting to auto as well in the options.

Timing Board

I thought I'm the only one having problem with this unit. I think the timing board is the problem. Tried to email Rick and got a reply that I need to fill up service form so frustrated they don't have solution for now.

I don't have a fix for the timing board, I guess that's a hardware issue, but when programming multiple lights it is important that you turn off the other lights completely. Unplugging them works best. After uploading make sure you hit the automatic button at the bottom to leave it in that mode. As for it switching between lights on its own, that is the joy of multiple wifi"hotspots". Based on your phones programming and how often it looks for a better signal. I've had mine jump to my neighbors house randomly depending on where in my house I'm standing. So just be sure that when you hit upload you are on the right wifi. Sometimes the reverse will happen too. If you are trying to use your phone to surf of access internet data and it isn't loading, make sure you are not connecting to the light instead of your home network.

Well I did not shut one off while programming the other. That could have been an issue. I exited one and force closed the app then restarted it with my phone right beside the desired light. It connected to the right one. Then I reconfirmed every time setting and exited. Redid this for the second making sure to set to automatic before exiting. Also when I first connected to each I resent data to both phone and controller. Not sure what did it but they now work great and switch to new time setting within 3 seconds of eachother. :-)

To make it easier change the wifi name on the lights. Call one left the other right so you know what one you are dealing with. I think this will also help stop the auto switching. With the same name the phone doesn't know it's a different network, just a stronger signal
