dnov99's 260 Gal eye candy thread...

amazing....complete eye candy thread.

Loving this red rim rescue. I have one with similar color patern but not nearly as nice. Hoping to get more color out of it. Do you feel this chalice is a low, med or high light one?

thanks

Thanks so much for the kind words. I find that it prefers med-light. In lower light it does tend get develop darker deeper colors, but its growth slows down, so I keep it in med-light.

Here is an updated shot of my rescue chalice. It is developing dark green rings around the eyes. Really an amazing piece.

I acquired it a year ago from another member and it was about 1.5" across. It has probably added another 1 inch in that year. Its overgrowing the 2.5" disc that it is on now and growing onto a large 4" disc.

love it!!!!!

Thanks Chris!!!

Oh baby! Ive never seen a colony this big usually only little pencil-eraser frags. How's the growth rate on this thing?

Billy, from my experience with most chalices once they get larger (bigger than 1") the growth rate goes up almost exponentially. More surface area, more eyes to feed=greater growth. With my BM now at this stage I can almost notice it growing weekly. The key is letting them grow and not cutting them, which most people dont do. LOL!!
