dnov99's 260 Gal eye candy thread...

I read that you think led's at terrible for chalices because they are to concentrated which is why you switched to t5 on your frag tank . Why have you kept them on your display still? Do they have good growth on the chalices and do they keep good coloration ? Do you notice any increase in growth or color from using t5 with the sol's?

I am guilty of being a copy cat lol ... I just ordered rimless 48x24x16 tank and am buying a 6x54w ati power module tomorrow :bounce: ........because of your tank .... Its going to be my chalice lagoon .

Everytime I see pics of this tank I'm amazed. I can't wait for that cheato just to be able to see this tank in person.

What a beautiful tank and equally beautiful collection you have. I just spent the first half of much lunch reading this entire thread.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much I appreciate that!!

LOL, just lmk when you are ready bro. Bring me some of those smoked jalapenos!!!

i have to as, on your LEDs at night do your chalices seem to almost get bubbles under the surface of the tissue? ALL of my chalices except my emerald mummy eye have this happen, and have you noticed a reduction in the size of the eyes?

Absolutely loving this thread! Please keep them coming

Any updates? I'm about to start a 120 and was thinking about running the zeovit. Do you think it's worth running that over biopellets and a calc reactor?

If you are going to run Zeovit, you should be prepared to spend some time and $$$ and be committed to the system. I recommend it for a full blown SPS tank, but not a mixed reef like mine, as it is very difficult to run this way, but luckily I have had success. Also if you are a beginner I strongly recommend you don't not start running zeovit until you have some experience with running SW tanks. HTH, pm me if you have any other questions.

Been a while since I updated this thread. Thankfully my generator saved my tank from Hurricane Sandy and all came thru with no problems. Snapped a few quick shots. Have a few more new pieces that I need to photo later this week.

Sweet corals and pictures!

Do you ever worry about the Space Invader pectina stinging the Crazy Fox or are they farther apart than they appear in that picture?

Nice colony of the Space Invader.

They are about 2" apart and the flow pattern keeps the sweepers away form the CF. Trust me I am always watching those sweepers.
