I really like zoas as the ones I have are colorful, hardy and spread. I wanted to do a zoa garden but currently just watching them grow between the other corals.

Hate them, while the pretty ones are attractive in heir own right, Zoas are invasive and will it seems overgrow anything and every thing else in my tank, I'd gladly drop a Z bomb on them and commit zoa genocide in my tank. I dont want them but cant seem to eradicate them .

Love em...so much so that i slowly switched to zoas and mushies only. They can be a pain but they have a soft spot in my heart. IMG_20210412_153454_341.jpg

Love em!
You get for a relatively cheap price (depending on where you buy them. I go to my lfs [online prices are just nuts]).
1) a HUGE variety.
2) multiple colors in each specimen (the one I go for anyway).
3) fast growing (get at least two heads for best results. One head can take months before it starts reproducing).
4) hardy (sometimes they don't acclimate well and end up blowing off the plug. Another reason to get more than one head)

I would love to love them but can't seem to keep them alive for some reason. Zoa's and mushrooms. Everything else does fine. Water parameters are good. Been doing this for 7+ years so I think I know a little bit about what I'm doing. maybe not! :(

If I could have just zoas and sticks! That's all there will be in my next tank.

I love them like all a corals. The colors are always amazing to me. I can't say I'm all into the fancy names though. If it looks good I get it.

lighting is everything with zoas.
checkout the zoas on Tidal Gardens site.
they have side by side pics under white and under blues.

Love them....so long as they aren't in my tank.

I like looking at pics and letting others deal with them. No room in my tanks to deal with them. So many other corals I'd rather have. Maybe a zoa only tank would be cool but that will have to come later.

Don't you just wish all corals could just get along . . . with the same lighting, flow and water conditions?

It’s hard to argue their beauty, but man, it kinda stresses me out watching them spread like crazy. Same with encrusting montis. Live the color and how the cover the rocks, but not how they choke out my other corals.

I love sticks and zoas! I frag both but far and away I have more interest when I frag my zoas put them up for sale.

I think it's funny how a typical person progresses in the hobby first it's softies then lps then on to the sticks. seems to be the norm.

I honestly hate them. They are very pretty and colorful but like mushrooms they tend to take over. They are kind of like a dandelion of the reef tank. No offense to anyone that likes them that is just my opinion

Not a fan of zoas at all. I find zoas can be stupid expensive, and take over everything. I call them herpes in a tank.
