Hi there, hope everyone is having a good hump day. We added two nems to our tank on Sunday. I haven’t had an anemone, since I killed one in the early 2000’s, so I know very little about them and was hesitant to buy them for fear of killing them again. But we bought anyway. The bubble tip has moved to a place where we can’t really see him, but he seems happy and my two clowns have taken to him well. The long tentacle New has closed up and looks like a blob, but has also opened up as well. He’s face down in the sand when open and I’ve read not to bother them when they’re trying to move. Is this normal behavior?
Hope this picture is good enough. If it isn’t I’ll try and get a better shot with more lighting. Thanks.

This is a normal look for a nem, especially when first acclimating to a new-to-them tank, or if water parameters change change rather quickly. So as long as your water’s stable, you should see them open up in a few days...if not sooner.

In my tank, the short answer to your question is: No, my BTA does not close up when it moves; in fact, strangely it never balls up, which I know they do as per your picture.

Didn’t realize I had another reply, but I think he’s really in trouble. I don’t know if I should try and pull him from the tank and put him down, or try and cull together a Hospital tank, or maybe even take him back to the LSF. I also got a bubble tip, which seems to be fairing better. He picked the most obscure place in my tank to home, and took my clowns with him F55A94CC-0535-4819-BEBB-5E8D72B3A751.jpeg

Sorry for the bad pictures. It’s still morning in my tank and he picked a dark area to hang out. I wanted to move him, but have read not to disturb them. Any help would be appreciated.
