Do Anthias change sex all the way?

I bought 3 female Anthias earlier this year. One had a bit of a tassle on the dorsal so I believed that was going to be the dominant. It started changing pretty rapidly after they became established, but hasn't really kept changing.

He's a bit more pink than the other 2 and has a long streamer, but I was expecting him to change into bright pink. He has the spots on his fins as well.

They don't all end up pink... I saw one once that was white and purple. Otherwise looked like any other lyretail.

That's too bad, lol. Side by side he is more pink/purple. Definitely not like the male I once had.

Quality foods and aoem vitamins to enhance the Color and some time. Yet all anthias that switched in my tanks never got as nice as ones that switched in the wild

I wonder if it's because there isn't any competition in the tank. Maybe in the wild it's more important.

Here is my Transitioning Lyre male....

Its not fully transitioned, but it is getting redder.

My Carberryi tho, the transitioning male, is getting pale tho... He's the one way left.

I have 3 different Anthias species in my tank.
Lyre + Carberryi + Blotched.

I only have the 3 lyretails. The male is definitely bigger and clearly the male. I just wished he was more pink/purple.

yeah i know that feeling.

After this thread, im also worried mine won't go full red like how i saw at the LFS.
And i would hate to rehome that male, and get a wild red, as they grew up with the tank, and i intend to allow them to do so until they pass away.

I have no intention of replacing anyone. I'll see how it plays out. Right now I have a great mix of fish, everyone is healthy and gets along.

How long has it been?

Maybe a week and a half, two, since it became apparent? Had the trio for - 3 months or so?
