Do Astraea snails eat coralline algae?

I got a few astraeas a couple weeks ago and I'm afraid one might be eating my coralline algae. Do astraeas eat coralline? I am posting a pic of a spot of what I think is coralline that the astraea ate. And if this doesn't look like coralline can someone tell me what it looks like?

They do not eat coraline. They will; however, eat some hair algaes, other greens, and diatoms

Is the algae with the chuck eaten out of it not coralline then?

+1 on cyano.. astreas have also been seen to pick at cyano a bit

Here's the thing. It doesn't blow off like cyano is supposed to. I had to scrape it off with a metal algae scraper. When I used a baster on it it looked like some of it may have shifted back and forth but it did not look like it was going to come off the rock. I touched it and it has more of a soft texture than a hard one. I know that I have cyano in the tank but I was under the impression that this part was coralline. Is it possible that cyano is on top of coralline and the snail ate both? Is there anything else I check to try and figure out what it is?

Aspiring Tank Guru. I think I have what you're describing as well. Red coating on rocks that doesn't come off even by scraping. But if you look at the edges, it's clear it's some kind of uniform growth and spreading. Attaching pictures. Would love feedback from the community. Thanks.
