Do cleaner shrimp moonlight as MURDERS?

I was doing a water change tonight and I saw a flurry of movement out of the corner of my eye. I didn’t think much of it because my clowns hate water changes. Then I notice a hermit w/out its shell full sprinting across the sand. I thought I was pretty cool I’ve never seen one out of its shell, until I notice by cleaner shrimp hot on his tail. The cleaner caught him and the battle began. The hermit put up a pretty good fight but eventually the shrimp won took him back to the rock he’s normally at, pinned him down and proceeded to eat him. Is that normal? I didn’t know he was a “cleaner” like in the mob.

Shrimp are opportunistic feeders. Always something going on in a reed tank.
