Do cleaner shrimp really clean ?

If you still have the blennie, you should consider netting him and treating him for those parasites in quarantine.

So I've noticed my shrimp going into my zoas and picking around on them...is this need for concern? It's normally 10 to 15 minutes after I feed everybody.

It only gets worse. Mine would reach into coral mouths and rip food from their guts after it figured it out.

Seems more clean than dont from this post. I have had 2 and neither cleaned. Maybe its because they were both housed with clowns that stayed in the back together and the one I have now is with the same 2 clowns and a damsel. Only had for a month but he does try to steal food from corals!. If he dosnt start to clean I dont think i will ever get another. Just a a pain in the butt, because I have to make a point to feed him with a turkey baster or he dosnt eat. I have tried to feed him crab and shrimp pellets that are bigger but have to use baster for that as well. He never catches them! I think I got him spoiled from the mysis! LOL

The skunk cleaner shrimp I have had always cleaned fish when the shrimp were young. As they got older, they almost completely stopped doing this. They are still awesome scavengers, though.
I'm not sure what their normal life span is. The longest I've kept them in a tank is about 3.5 years.

Mine cleans my starry Blenny only. Other than that it just annoys and steals from my LPS, even if I feed it first. I had one prior to this one that surprisingly didn’t steal from the LPS.

Given their opportunistic, I've always worried about them ripping chunks out of fish.

Mine would only clean the starry blenny and yellow tang, and that was pretty rare.

I would however let the shrimp give me a manicure when cleaning my tank. Just hold your hand still and he would hop on and go around each finger nail picking away
