Do clownfish ever sleep?

i have a pair of ocellaris clownfish plus one tomato single ( they actually get along pretty good) and they ...never... seem to sleep. Ive been up at all times of the night and i never see them actually sleeping. They just have a constant waving motion all night over their seperate chosen spaces by the rock. Neither have an anenome at the moment, mine is too small so i keep it separate until it gets bigger. Ive already had two small anenomes killed by my single tomato clownfish, she is so big and anenome obsessed. She basically gut puches them until they hide and shrivel up and break down. So, this time around... i keep my anenome in an acclimation box until it is big enough.
Just concerned because i dont think they ever sleep. Is this normal for clownfish?

I don't know if mine ever sleep, but they get pretty drowsy/lethargic when they're in their anemone.

Yes is normal clown behavior, also the best time to remove from reef if needed...

Yeah, i cant wait until my anenome is big enough to put in the main tank. Im kinda hoping it splits so i have an anenome for both

is the tank dark at night?

mine sleep vertically, looking at each other, they are moving still while sleeping, they can sit on the bottom sometimes but that just seems to be a rest, sleeping they are normally moving.

Mine lies on a magfloat at the top of the tank with one eye open making sure I don't have the net out....
I get up every day at 2:30 AM.
I know he's looking at me.

I have seen mine sleeping at night it makes me worried at times but then a flash of light boom they are back at it

Mine don't stop swimming, but at night they always go up to the surface near the overflow box.

same for me , occasionally one of mine will drift away from the other and literally splash water out of the tank trying to get back to them.

If it’s dark at night and no loud noise such as power heads etc then I gu so that’s all you can do.

My maroon pair sleep in the nem, they just wiggle a lot! My big pair in my other tank are too big for both to fit in their nem so they just wiggle vertically but the wiggles slow down and thats when I know they sleep. Clownfish are very weird

Mine also sleep sideways, or vertical, during the night, near the overflow.

My Skunk Clowns sleep wherever on the bottom on the tank huddled next to each other

at first mine made a divot in the sand and slept in it. He has since found one of the caves in the aquascape and moved right in. I assume he lies down in the cave but I can't see him when he's in there.
