Do copepods eat polyps?

Every morning when the lights go on in my tank I have noticed the copepods crawling all over one of my polyps. I have marsian man palys and these are what the copepods seem to like. They will not open up anymore and I have noticed black marks (almost like scars) where the copepods have been. So my question is, do copepods eat corals? or what could they be doing?

some amphipods have been known to munch on palys/zoas... I don't think it's very common though..
