Do Copepods & Phytoplankton need light?

Hi AlgeBarn,

My tank is cycling and I am planning on seeding with 5280 Pods Three Species Mix Live Copepods & OceanMagik Live Phytoplankton before introducing any fish or corals.

Do copepods & phytoplankton need light?

No. Phyto only reproduces with light. But it generally doesn't in a tank. It's just a food source.

I just picked some of this stuff up as well.. do you just pour both bottles into the tank?

Only the Copepods. I put about 70% in my DT and the rest in my sump. Follow the feeding instructions on the back of the Phytoplankton bottle.
