Do firefish hate flow?

Im getting a powerhead, Im just wondering if I have to weaken the flow with a sponge or cloth or filter floss for my firefish

I have an SPS tank that is pretty high flow - 50-60 turnover. I have had fire fish, and they never had any trouble. Mine always find a cave and hang out in front of it. They can always find a low flow area. But even then they never hesitated to go into high flow places for food.

got it, im gonna shut off the powerhead when I feed, so should be fine.

I wouldn't say my firefish hangs out in front of my wavemaker but he's never acted like he struggles with the flow. I have a ~0.7-second pulse and while he definitely has his little areas he prefers, he'll swim all over to get food.

Mine after about 3 days came out of the cave, and by a week or two was mostly outside of the cave. He still sleeps in the cave at night I've noticed though. I think they just enjoy hiding in caves and having their own little territory where they can feel safe.

Mine sleep in a cave as well. 1 disappeared so I only have 2 now. They get out in the flow but do need places to hide.
They do dig holes under rocks for hiding places. The pic was taken in the middle of the night while they were sleeping.

I wouldn't say they "hate" flow but they definitely prefer calmer waters. Their bodies and fins aren't designed to handle turbulent waters lol.

I leave them on. Make them work for it... Flow don't stop on the reef why should it stop in mine?
