Hi guys !!
i just bought fluval ps2 skimmer for my Evo 13.5 aquarium. just noticed that the temperature of my aquarium is higher(82 degrees )since the skimmer is running, so my question is, do ps2 skimmers generate heat ? because when i turn off the skimmer the temperature goes back 78.5 degrees!!

You may have a defective unit. When I ran one(which was short lived) on my 13.5... my temp maintained 78 degrees. I think a tank that size doesn’t necessarily need a Skimmer IMO

Seems odd it would raise the temperature that much. I've moved this over to the equipment forum in hopes of additional help

Welcome to R2R by the way.

I have an Evo 13.5 but avoided this skimmer. The reviews of it didn't give me much encouragement. I was actually looking at the Reef Glass, I think it's called, from MD. It's meant for Nano's, just doesn't have a collection cup.

I agree that a skimmer isn't really necessary on this tank. I use it for quarantine and needed aeration. I ended up using a bubbler instead. According to reviews and videos, I wouldn't expect much from the skimmer. Unfortunately Fluval has yet to make a skimmer that actually works for their tanks.

Good luck with it though:)
